After developing a rather clean style in the four elements series I wanted to create something more organic, something rawer.
Matte Painting: The Glade
The goal was to create a high resolution environment matte painting that could then be split up into layers for an animation sequence.

After doing the water element I decided to do yet another element in this style, and what was the most obvious choice as counterpiece to water: fire.

I create most of my textures by altering digital photgraphs in Photoshop to make them tileable and meet the requirements of the situtation they are used in.
